These Commission Terms apply to bespoke artwork created by Sabine's Art.
By confirming a commission, paying a deposit or approving a quote, you agree to these terms.
About commissions
A commission is a bespoke piece of artwork created specifically for you. Each commission is hand-painted and created as an original artwork.
While reference images, previous pieces or inspiration may be used to guide the commission, the finished artwork will not be an exact copy of another piece.
Enquiry process
To request a commission, please contact us with as much detail as possible, including:

We will review your request and confirm whether the commission is suitable.
Quotes
A quote will be provided based on the size, detail, materials, timeframe and complexity of the artwork.
Quotes are valid for [number] days unless stated otherwise.
Deposits
A deposit of [percentage/amount] is required to secure the commission and begin the creative process.
The deposit covers planning, studio time, materials and initial work. Once work has started, deposits are normally non-refundable.
Payment balance
The remaining balance must be paid before the finished artwork is released, delivered or collected.
The artwork remains the property of Sabine's Art until payment has been received in full.
Timelines
Estimated timelines will be discussed before the commission begins.
Timelines may vary depending on the size and complexity of the artwork, drying time, approval stages, workload, shipping and circumstances outside our control.
If you require a commission by a specific date, this must be agreed in writing before the commission is accepted.
Reference images
You must have the right to share any reference images provided for the commission.
You confirm that any images you provide do not infringe another person’s copyright, privacy or intellectual property rights.
Creative interpretation
Commissions are created in the artist’s own style. While we will follow the agreed brief as closely as possible, hand-painted artwork naturally includes artistic interpretation, texture, brushwork and creative decisions.
Approval stages
Where appropriate, progress images may be shared during the commission process.
Minor adjustments may be possible at agreed stages. Major changes, changes to the original brief or requests made late in the process may incur an additional charge.
Revisions
The commission includes [number] round[s] of minor revisions, where possible.
Revisions do not include a complete change of subject, size, composition, colour palette or style unless agreed separately.
Cancellations
If you cancel a commission after work has started, the deposit will not usually be refunded.
If significant work has already been completed, further charges may apply to cover time, materials and work carried out.
If we need to cancel the commission for any reason, we will contact you to discuss a suitable solution.
Final approval
Final images may be shared before delivery or collection. Once the artwork has been approved and released, further changes may not be possible.
Copyright
Purchasing a commission gives you ownership of the physical artwork only. Copyright and reproduction rights remain with [Artist / Studio Name] unless agreed in writing.
You may not reproduce, print, sell, license, distribute or use the artwork commercially without written permission.
Sharing commissioned artwork
Unless agreed otherwise, Sabine's Art may share images or videos of the commission on the website, social media, portfolio, marketing materials or printed materials.
If the commission is private, sensitive or a surprise gift, please tell us before work begins.
Delivery
Delivery costs will be confirmed before the commission is completed.
The artwork will only be delivered or released once payment has been received in full.
